Title: Replacement of Electrical Breakers, Sir Frederick Banting Research Centre

Introduction:

To provide specialized and general labour and expense to undertake the work as defined in the Plans and Specification document for the Electrical Repairs in the Health Canada Sir Frederick Banting Research Centre facility, Tunney’s Pasture.

Objectives of the Requirement

The objective of this contract is to provide all labour, material and equipment including testing and commissioning required to repair the Banting Building’s aging electrical distribution system as depicted in the Specification Documents. This work will ensure the continued integrity of the building’s electrical distribution system.

Estimated Value

The total value is estimated to cost between $370,000 and $400,000.00 including all expenses and all applicable taxes.

Mandatory Requirements

M1. Bidders, or their authorized representative(s) must attend a site visit scheduled at the Sir Frederick Banting Building, 251 Sir Frederick Banting Driveway, Tunney’s Pasture, Ottawa, ON K1A 0K9 on February 25th at 9:00 am.
At least (2) working days prior to the scheduled site visit, bidders are asked to notify in writing the Health Canada, Senior Procurement Contracting Officer (by email to: b••••••••@•••••.••.ca to confirm their attendance and to provide the name of their representative(s).

M2. The Firm . The Bidder must have proven experience (within the past 10 years) in completing a minimum of two projects of a similar nature, size, scale and complexity to the requirements of the Replacement of the Electrical Breakers Project (described in this RFP) at the Sir Frederick Banting Building.
Two references are required and the Bidder should include the following information:
a) Name, organization, phone number and email (if available) address of client.
b) Start and end date of each project.
c) Description of the services provided.
d) Location of where the services were provided.

M3. The Bidder must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the electrical high voltage industry and have all the applicable licenses.

*Copy of all certifications and/or licences required with bid.

M4 The Bidder must have insurance that covers electrical high voltage work.
*Copy of certification or letter of proof required.

M5 The Bidder must be a current member in good standing with the Electrical Safety Authority

M6. It is a mandatory requirement (at the tender closing date and time) that bidders submit with their tenders a letter from a Treasury Board approved acceptable bondable company for proof of being bondable in accordance with Part 1, Section 3.10 Bid Financial Security contained in this RFP.
