downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF). Tenderers
should note that Attachment contains the Drawings and
Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files
organized in an industry recognized directory structure.

Work Description:

Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to,:

1. Replacement of cell windows in Living Units A to H located
at Kent Institution, 4732 Cemetery Road, Agassiz, BC. Including;
removal and disposal of existing windows, providing and
installing new detention windows and remedial work as indicated;
also included is removal of exterior and interior steel security
screens as indicated on drawings,

2. Provide the following spare windows and components under
this Contract, as specified:
a. 2 x complete windows
b. 6 x operator assemblies
c. 24 x glass panes

3. Provide lead paint abatement for steel surfaces affected by
cutting and grinding work on existing security barrier within
each cell window. Lead abatement includes removal of lead paint
on steel security bars within each ell window well area as
specified in Section 02 83 10.
4. Refer to Appendix A "Site Specific Lead Exposure and Dust
Control Plan"

5. Phasing Plan: see Construction Work Schedule.

6. Window mock-up unit. Install one mockup window in accordance
with documents. One mockup window is supplied by the
Departmental Representative and will be delivered onsite after
award of Contract as per clause 1.1.7

7. Schedule and substantially complete window installation at
each cell block for Owner's occupancy prior to Substantial
Performance of entire Work.

Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules
within the scope of work.

Site Visit:

Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.

A site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2015 @
10:00am local time. Interested bidders are to meet at the PWGSC
Site Office, Kent Institution, 4732 Cemetary Road, Agassiz, BC.

Note: All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, which
meets WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site
visit. No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or lap top
computers are allowed into institutions at any time. All
contractors attending the site visit must be able to provide a
piece of Government issued photo identification at the reception
in order to gain visitor access into institutions.

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed within Forty-two (42) weeks from Contract Award.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between $720,000 and $740,000.
