Sealants replacement and repairs to curtain wall & skylights
National Hydrology Research Centre
#11 Innovation Boulevard
Saskatoon (Saskatchewan)
S7N 3H5

SCOPE OF WORK

.1 Work of this contract comprises demolition and general construction for the replacement of all the caulking on the building envelope of the National Hydrology Research Centre.
This includes the sealing at the glass units of windows and sloped skylights. There are also miscellaneous repairs to concrete and stripping and painting of metal fabrications, doors and frames and miscellaneous items.
.2 Obtain building permit prior to proceeding with the construction work.
.3 All works identified in the drawings for curtain wall repairs and skylights are to be priced separately except as noted below for leak repairs.

ARCHITECTURAL Summary of work - The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:
a. For the total exterior of the building including the roof area - removal and re-doing
of all the caulking and sealants. This includes the caulking of the Curtain Walls
and Sloped Skylights to the building.
b. Stain removal repairs to precast concrete panels.
c. Repairs to concrete curbs and slabs.
d. Paint removal, preparation and painting of brick support angles, hollow metal
doors, frames miscellaneous metal items.
e. Glazing seal repairs at the PPG 594 windows.
f. The leak repairs to the Curtain Wall and sloped skylight systems-are to be
included in the Base Bid.
g. Repairs to the curtain wall system - glazing seal repairs are to be bid as a
separate price. Refer to appendix 4, unit price table.
h. Repairs to the sloped skylight system - glazing seal repairs are to be bid as a
Separate price. Refer to appendix 4, unit price table.

All contractors intending to bid are requested to attend the mandatory site examination meeting. This will be the only opportunity to visit the site, examine the drawings and discuss projects details. The site visit will be held at the following date and location, as stated below:

Interested bidders are invited to meet at Environment Canada, National Hydrology Research Centre #11 Innovation Boulevard, Saskatoon (SK) S7N 3H5 on the 14th of May, 2015 at 10am (local time).

Failure to attend the “Site Visit” will result in bidder’s disqualification.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO BIDDERS:
Enquiries during the solicitation period shall be addressed only in writing by fax or email to the Contracting Authority named above and must be received no less than five (5) calendar days prior to the closing date stated above."
