Work Description:
Work under this Contract comprises upgrading the Central Heating
Plant burner and valve replacement at three boilers at the
Matsqui Complex in Abbotsford, B.C.
Basic description of work:
-Replace the existing burners and combustion controls systems
serving the three heating water boilers serving the complex.
-Provide an auxiliary panel to house the ancillary boiler motor
loads and control interlocks.
-Replace the existing boiler safety cutout switches, and
reconnect to the existing alarm annunciation devices, and
interlock with the new burner combustion controls.
-Replace the existing boiler supply and return heating water
shut off and balancing valves with new.
-Undertake the work on one boiler at a time, except for the
valve replacement which shall be undertaken after hours on
consecutive nights.
-Remove all redundant piping, valves, electrical and control
system devices, panels and wiring.
Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules
within the scope of work.
Site Visit:
Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
A site visit is scheduled on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 @ 10:00 am
local time. Interested bidders are to meet at the PWGSC Site
Office, Matsqui Complex, 33344 King Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S 4P3
Note: All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, which
meets WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site
visit. No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or lap top
computers are allowed into institutions at any time. All
contractors attending the site visit must to able to provide a
piece of Government issued photo identification at the reception
in order to gain visitor access into institutions.
Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed within ten (10) weeks of contract award.
Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between $350,000 and $450,000.
