Electromechanical Repairs- French River Dams including the Portage Dam and Little Chaudière Dam.
Project description:
At both Portage Dam and at Little Chaudière Dam, the work includes but need not necessarily be limited to: remove five vertical lift gates from their sluices and transport to workshop for overhaul of wheels and installation of new wheel bearings; measure position of gate wheels during their re-installation and adjust wheel position to ensure they correctly aligned to work properly in their gains; measure gate lip and, if necessary, machine to re-establish original tolerances; measure sill and gains of each sluice and, if necessary machine to re-establish tolerances; clean and inspect each gate hoist; reinstall gates in dam with new wire rope slings; and, re-commission gates andtheir hoists.
In addition, for the three gates at the Portage Dam only, the work includes but need not be limited to: replace indicator lights in local and remote control panels; replace limit switches around each vertical lift gate and its hoist; replace heaters in local control panels; re-wire main and local panels using appropriate numbering systems following control drawings; check, test, and correct local controls and alarms previously found to be non-functional; and, supply spare LED bulbs forindicator lights and spare limit switches.
Local dewatering, environmental protection, health and safety requirements, quality control, and waste disposal are integral tasks with the above-noted work.
Work is to be completed within fifteen [15] weeks after contract award. The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following category: $501K to $1M.
