Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has a
requirement on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans
(DFO) for Shore Protection Repairs at the existing DFO Small
Craft Harbour (SCH) facility at Carmanville, NL. The scope of
work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment
and material for placement of shore protection armour stone.
The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be
limited to, the supply and installation of armour stone, the
supply and installation of filter stone, and the salvage,
side-cast, removal and reinstallation of existing material in
the area of new work.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit
the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form,
nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the
completion of work, the means of access to the site, severity,
exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any
accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all
necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other
circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No
allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on
account or error or negligence to properly observeand determine
the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review
specification Section 01 35 28 - Health and Safety before
visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any
visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. Obtain
prior permission from the Departmental Represnetative before
carrying out such site inspection.
Bidders must refer to GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS (GI) -
R2710T (2013-06-27) for the Code of Conduct and Certification
provisions applicable to this requirement.
