Work Description:
The work of this contract comprises of the partial building
envelope repair of the
Huntingdon Port of Entry border crossing, located at 2 Sumas
Way, Abbotsford, British
Columbia.
Work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not
limited to, the following
items covered further in the Contract documents:
.1 Cladding Repair - ITF Building and Commercial Traffic
Facility:
.1 Removal and disposal of existing Exterior Insulation Finish
System
(EIFS), air barrier, gypsum sheathing and flashings as
indicated,
including removal and reinstallation of existing soffit and
glazing where
required.
.2 Replacement of exterior wall steel stud framing where
deteriorated.
.3 Installation of board insulation, new gypsum sheathing, air
barrier
membrane, metal furring, metal wall panel, flashings and
sealant as
indicated.
.4 Removal and refinishing of existing louvres to match new
metal panels,
as indicated.
.2 Roof Repair - ITF Building and Commercial Traffic Facility:
.1 Roof Membrane Renewal (Area 2, 3, 6, 7):
.1 Protect adjoining assemblies not included in scope of work.
.2 Remove and discard existing cap and skirt flashings as
required.
.3 Remove and retain existing mechanical units as required to
complete the work.
.4 Remove existing roof assemblies (SBS modified bituminous
membrane, EPS rigid insulation), roof drains, etc.
.5 Remove and retain existing standing seam metal wall
cladding to
the extent shown on the details and as required to complete
the
work.
.6 Install vapour barrier.
.7 Install tapered foam insulation over entire roof with a
minimum
thickness of 1" at drains, including sloped crickets as
required.
Submit shop drawings for tapered insulation review. Provide
minimum 2% slope.
.8 Install new drains and strainers complete with new
back-flow
seal into existing drainage pipes.
.9 Install mineral wool insulation to thickness shown in the
contract
documents. Use a minimum of 2 layers of insulation. Top
layer is to be complete with overlay board. Stagger all
joints.
.10 Install new overflow scupper drain where indicated in the
construction documents.
.11 Install 2-ply SBS roofing membrane.
.12 Re-install retained mechanical units.
.13 Install new cap flashings and counter flashings.
.14 Re-install metal cladding, as required.
.15 Seal all exterior joints and interfaces.
.2 Roof Membrane Renewal (Area 8):
.1 Protect adjoining assemblies not included in scope of work.
.2 Remove and discard existing metal cap and skirt flashings
as
required.
.3 Remove and retain existing paving stones.
.4 Remove existing roof assemblies (SBS modified bituminous
membrane, EPS rigid insulation), roof drains, etc.
.5 Remove and dispose of EIFS cladding at base of walls as
indicated.
.6 Install self-adhered vapour barrier.
.7 Install sloped insulation package.
.8 Install new drains complete with new back-flow seal into
existing
drainage pipe.
.9 Install 2-ply SBS roofing membrane.
.10 Install extruded polystyrene insulation over drainage mat.
.11 Install filter fabric, pedestals and retained paving
stones.
.12 Install new counter flashings.
.13 Install new EIFS repair band and
Secondary Site Visit:
A Secondary Site Visit has been scheduled for September 18, 2013
at 10:00am. Interested Bidders are to meet in front of the ITF
Building at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon Port of Entry border
crossing, located at 2 Sumas Way, Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Please park offsite as there is limited parking onsite.
Site Visit:
A Site Visit has been scheduled for September 11, 2013 at
10:00am. Interested Bidders are to meet in front of the ITF
Building at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon Port of Entry border
crossing, located at 2 Sumas Way, Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Please park offsite as there is limited parking onsite.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
The bidder must confirm that he/she will provide a 5 Year
Guarantee issued by the Roofing Contractors Association of
British Columbia Guarantee Corp (RGC). Bids not meeting the
mandatory requirement will be deemed non-responsive and will be
given NO further consideration.
Delivery Date:
The work is to be completed sixteen (16) weeks after contract
award.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between $400,000 and $440,000.
Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain
