The Mercury Global (MG) project will provide the Department of
National Defence (DND) with assured access to robust global
satellite communications to meet the Information Exchange
Requirement (IER) needs of the Canadian Forces (CF) in the
present and future.
The objectives of the Mercury Global project are:
a) Deliver strategic X-band and Ka-band SATCOM ground entry
sites that are interoperable with deployed terminals fielded by
all environmental force generators. These ground entry sites
will enable connectivity to global theatres and must be located
within Canadian territory where feasible; and
b) Deliver CF SATCOM Control Centre(s) (CFSCC) required to
manage and to control satellite access, and link circuit and
network operation for the DND ground terminal population as
fielded to meet the current and forecasted IERs to FY 24/25. The
CFSCC must support identified critical services under conditions
of system stress caused by partial failure or electronic warfare.
The Contractor must provide professional services on an "as and
when requested" basis to support the systems and equipment as
described above.
Professional services are required to provide inputs into
varying tasks associated with the options analysis, definition
phase, and implementation phase of the project in order to
define the project deliverables. This will include the creation
of a set of technical documents and SOWs.
