Scope of Work
FCC’s core business is to make loans to farmers and agribusinesses. In instances where FCC needs to initiate a recovery action, it often requires the assistance of a solicitor that is qualified in the areas of debt recovery and insolvency.
The objective of this RFP is to establish a list of preferred solicitors that FCC can engage for these files. FCC intends to establish its list based on the geographical area(s) that the selected solicitors can service (the final number of solicitors selected per region will be determined by FCC).
Ideally, lawyers should have practiced for a minimum of 10 years in debt recovery and insolvency and have significant experience in the agri-business and agriculture sectors FCC’s goal is to establish a list of lawyers, and not necessarily a list of law firms. Respondents should focus on ensuring that the lawyers that they propose are a suitable fit for this work.
Respondents should note that selection for FCC’s preferred solicitors list does not imply that each solicitor will be engaged on a regular basis (or be awarded any work at all). FCC will engage solicitors based on who it deems as best suited to work on each individual file.
