Task-Based Informatics Professional Services (TBIPS) Requirement

Description of the requirement:

The Application Services Division (ASD) of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) requires the full time professional services of a Senior Database Administrator to provide database design and development, database modeling and database conversion in support of IMTD operations.

The tasks to be performed are:

• Install and configure SQL Server Instances and databases.
• Build, convert, test, repair, configure and document the process of all components in the database environment including tables, indexes, views, triggers and stored procedures.
• Work very closely with the team members in order to maintain and safeguard the database.
• Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database.
• Identify requirements for improvements to existing databases by determining users' information requirements and system performance and functional requirements.
• Ensure data consistency with IMTD data model standards and best practices.
• Advise programmers, analysts, and partners about the efficient use of data.
• Maintain configuration control of the databases.
• Analyse and tune databases for optimal efficiency.
• Provide database support and advice to the developers.
• Perform and/or coordinate updates to the database design.
• Develop and implement security procedures for the database, including access and user account management.
• Ability to work beyond the normal working hours, including evenings and weekends as and when required on approval from Project Authority.

• Cold Fusion version 6 to 11 applications;
• PowerBuilder version 8 and 12.6 applications;
• Windows 2008 servers;
• Windows 7
• Microsoft Office 2010

Security requirement at bid closing: Valid Facility Security Clearance at the level of SECRET, issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

Proposed period of contract:

The proposed period of contract shall be from contract award plus 110 days and two irrevocable option periods of 110 days as Option Period 1 and 110 days as Option Period 2.
