The purpose of the Seismic Study is to provide researchers at
the Geological Survey of Canada with information and data
regarding the context, nature and extent of materials and
deposits present in the subsurface at the Ripley Landslide Site,
located near Ashcroft, British Columbia. For this particular
study, subsurface data must be collected at the site through the
application of geophysical techniques, including seismic
surveying. The GSC and their partners will use the resultant
data to model and better understand the 3D-configuration of the
landslide, and the processes contributing to the slope
instability. The EM data will be compared to information
collected by other geophysical techniques and methods, in
addition to data derived from field observations, image
interpretation, drilling logs, etc. The contractor will indicate
the estimated depth of penetration below ground surface expected
by their study.
The contractor is expected to deploy an Seismic study at the
Ripley Landslide site according to industry
acceptable technical standards. The task involves the
implementation of several geophysical transect lines at the site.
