Background
Canmet MATERIALS (CMAT), a branch of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) conducts research and development activities on materials for transportation, pipelines, power generation and defense applications. As part of the facility, CMAT operates a full pledged chemical analysis lab capable of analysing composition of various metals and alloys. One of the major equipment in this lab is Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES).
Scope
Canmet MATERIALS (CMAT) intends to procure an Emissions Spectrometer to be used for research and development. The objective of the equipment is to provide the laboratory an essential tool capable of analysing solid conductive samples in Al, Cu, Fe, Mg, Ti, Ni and Co matrices. The equipment will have an excitation source such as spark, laser or plasma to energise the atoms in conductive solid metallic samples resulting in a light, which is used to analyse the chemical composition of the metallic object.
Milestone 1
Design of the optical system, procurement of sensors and control system (design drawings, bill of materials and photos of parts to demonstrate Milestone 1).
Milestone 2
Delivery, installation and commission of the equipment at site.
Please refer to the Request for Proposal document for the complete details regarding this requirement including the mandatory criteria, evaluation criteria and basis of selection.
Delivery Date: Above-mentioned
