UV/VIS-SWIR Spectrometer
31184-173280/A
The National Research Council Canada has a requirement for the supply of one (1) UV-VIS-NIR Spectrometer for Carbon Nanotube Measurements
Objective:
To purchase a spectrometer system that allows to quantitatively determine the absorbance of single-walled carbon nanotubes in solution through a transmission measurement over a spectral range extending from the ultraviolet to the near-infrared that is from 300 nm to 2300 nm.
Background:
Operating in the Security and Disruptive Technology portfolio, the Nanomaterials group processes single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in solution.
Depending on the species, SWNTs will absorb light at different wavelengths over an extended spectrum. Their fundamental absorption band appears at long wavelengths, near 2000 nm.
Quantitative determination of the concentration of SWNTs in solution is necessary for reproducible processing of the material.
Optical absorption spectroscopy is a tool that allows quantitative determination of the concentration in solution through an optical measurement.
