Description of the requirement:
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has a requirement for a Web Multi-media Content Consultant.
Summary of Duties
CNSC requires the services of a Web and multimedia content consultant to coordinate all daily Web postings, support the evolution of the CNSC’s website to WET 3.x/4.x, support the migration of the CNSC’s website and provide occasional multimedia production support.
The Web multimedia content consultant will discuss Web site and multimedia content needs with CNSC project managers on a project-by-project basis. Meetings may be needed with internal CNSC contacts if clarity or more information is required. All projects will result in new or updated Web site or social media (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, etc.) content as prescribed by project managers.
NOTE: The resource must be willing to work outside of normal working hours including weekends as and when required by the Project Authority.

o WET 3.x/4.x standards and toolkits for Government of Canada Web sites
o The Government of Canada’s Web Renewal Initiative
o CNSC audio and video production technical specifications
o WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility compliance requirements
o Technical requirements for CNSC social media channels
- Review and acquaint themselves with the CNSC’s Web site and intranet
- Manage the daily intake of content requests and coordinate between content providers (Project Managers) and the CNSC’s technical Web coding team to ensure timely and successful completion of all requests for new or updated Web content
- Occasionally post after-hours direct content to the Web site as determined by senior management
- Discuss needs with CNSC Project Manager on a project-by-project basis and clarity deadlines, project scope, etc. if more information is required
- Provide support for the bi-weekly development of CNSC’s online internal newsletter (Synergy), including integration of video, animation and interactive components
- Development and maintenance of CNSC “crisis-specific” sites
- Participate in CNSC emergency exercises as needed
- Attend meetings as needed
- Use standard graphic design and multimedia production tools
- Create and modify Web graphics and video as required
- Development of Web mockups, multimedia storyboards or Powerpoint presentations as requested by project managers
- Create training materials as needed
- Keep track of all assigned projects and any changes requested, from start to finish, to ensure a high-quality end product
- Manage all assigned tasks within timeframes allotted
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the CNSC’s Web posting process, e.g., modify intake forms, coordinate improvements with technical resources, etc.
- Raise any concerns or quality issues with CNSC project manager
Security requirement at bid closing: Valid Facility Security Clearance at the level of RELIABILITY, issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

Proposed period of contract:
The proposed period of contract shall be from contract award plus 260 days and two irrevocable option periods of 260 days as Option Period 1 and 245 days as Option Period 2.
