The house construction consists of concrete strip footing foundation and wall, 38 x 89 (mm) wood frame walls above grade, and wood truss and joists. The exterior siding of the house is clad with vinyl siding and asphalt shingle roofing.

The scope of the retrofits [for each unit] includes, but is not limited to:

  • Demolition of existing envelope including vinyl siding, substrate, existing windows and doors, asphalt shingles and roof insulation;
  • Demolition of existing furnace; and mechanical upgrades including new heat pump heating system, air handling unit, and heat recovery ventilator (HRV) system;
  • Associated upgrades required to electrical system;
