With continual changes to national and international regulations
pertaining to grain contaminants, the Grain Research Laboratory
(GRL) of the Canadian Grain Commission has a requirement for the
provision of an open design, high-throughput quantitative
Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) system with multisample
nanodispenser that can quantify large numbers of samples in
relatively short time and at comparatively low consumable costs.
The microbiology lab of the GRL intends to use the qPCR system
for the identification and quantification of toxigenic and
pathogenic microorganisms on raw grains. In addition, the open
design, high-throughput qPCR platform will enhance and expedite
identification and strain typing of microbial agents using next
generation sequencing (NGS) and qPCR assays developed or
validated in-house.
The qPCR system must be able to support programming, data
collation and data storage of individual chips containing a
minimum of 5,100 nanowells and up to 384 different samples.
The System must be delivered, fully assembled, installed and
tested by the Contractor to ensure proper operation. The
installation and testing must be completed within four (4) weeks
of delivery.
Delivery and set-up/installation are mandatory to be completed
no later than January 31, 2014.
