PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to identify the requirements and expectations in order to enable the successful purchase of a wireless mobile tower lift system for the Department of National Defence (DND). The equipment in question is required in order to affect the maintenance and repair of the DND fleet.
CONTEXT
A gap in vehicle lifting capability was identified following an analysis of workshop repair capabilities in the context of the arrival of the new MSVS SMP fleet. Due to the larger vehicle footprint and increased weight, all the shop vehicle lifts are incapable of lifting the vehicle safely and securely. These lifts are necessary for the safe, secure, and efficient maintenance of vehicle systems within a 1st line garrison context.
For this purpose, two (2) new vehicle lifting systems are required in order to continue to provide an adequate service to the unit as a whole. The requested lifts will allow the unit to continue to conduct maintenance operations in a flexible, safe, and efficient manner whilst respecting any obligations toward Canadian Armed Force Land Material Assurance.
