Emergency Power System Inspection

Correctional Service Canada requires a contractor to provide
emergency power system inspection, maintenance/testing, as well
as emergency, modification, upgrade and routine repairs at their
locations in Springhill Institution, Springhill, Nova Scotia;
Dorchester Penitentiary, Dorchester, New Brunswick; Westmorland
Institution, Dorchester, New Brunswick; Atlantic Institution,
Renous, New Brunswick; and Nova Institution, Truro, Nova Scotia.

The period of the contract is from date of award to March 31,
2013, with options to extend for up to four (4) additional
periods of one (1) year each.

The contractor MUST demonstrate the company overall knowledge
characteristics in the field of Emergency Power System in
regards to inspections, emergency, modifications, upgrades and
routine repair in an Institutional environment in similar work
in term of size, tasks, client's responsibilities, etc.

The company MUST supply at the time of submittal to PWGSC a
client list, client references, company experience, etc.

The Contractor MUST submit at the time of submittal to PWGSC
proof of the following training for each technician:

Must be certified for a least one of the following courses:

Heavy Equipment Service Technician or
Truck and Transport Service Technician or
Marine Diesel Mechanics
And
Trained in Workplace Electrical Safety (Arc Flash) as per CSA
Z462-08 and CSA C282-09 Emergency electrical power supply for
buildings.
And
Certified System Manufacturer Technician to work on Transfer
Switch. (This work can be sub-contacted out, please indicate
supplier name)

All technicians MUST have a minimum 5 years experience in the
field of Emergency Power System related to inspection, repairs,
maintenance/testing, upgrades, modification in an Institutional
environment.

The contractor MUST submit a detailed resume to PWGSC at the
time of submittal outlining the technician education, training
and experience.

The inspection, testing and maintenance MUST be performed by a
qualified contactor and/or the system manufacturer and/or
individuals trained and must be certified by the system
manufacturer WHO must hold a valid Electrical Generator Systems
Technician certification.

This Public Works and Government Services Canada office provides
procurement services to the public in both official languages.
