Support for the T56 PG which includes the CC130 APU and Quick
Engine Change Unit, Reduction Gear Box, Propeller and ancillary
components.
This notification is related to the T56 Propulsion Group (PG)
Optimized Weapons System Support (OWSSs) requirement,
W8485-12-3077BF originally advertised on the Government
Electronic Tendering Service on October 31, 2012, which was for
the provision of Goods and Services support for the Propulsion
Systems used on the CC130 Hercules Models E and H; and CP140
Aurora aircraft fleets on behalf of the Department of National
Defence (DND).
In accordance with the Canada's Defence Renewal Sustainment
Initiative efforts to find efficiencies for reinvestment, the
concept of support for these fleets is under review. Given the
complexity of the analysis that is underway, the original plan
to have the T56 PG OWSM contract in place by April 1, 2014 has
been set aside.
In order to avoid a gap in contractual coverage, which could
significantly impact RCAF operations, an interim short-term
two-year transitional contract will be required. It is
anticipated that this requirement for Repair or Overhaul of the
T56 PG will be competed and posted on "Buy and Sell" in January
2014.
In order to address critical aspects of this short term two-year
transitional requirement with minimal operational impact, Canada
requests interested parties confirm the following:
That your company understands the security requirement
associated with this type of work and that your company has a
security officer and personnel that can be assigned to this
contract so that work can commence April 1, 2014;
That your company has personnel to provide the required support
as of April 1, 2014 while completing any additional staffing
requirements (if required);
That your company will be ready to provide full services
effective April 1, 2014
Any other issues that may delay your ability to be up running as
of April 1, 2014

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
