1. Purpose
The purpose of this Requirement is to request tooling for the
C130J Hercules 436 SQN Aircraft Structure (ACS) tool boards. The
tools need to be identical to the tools now used in the Squadron.
2. Background
The purpose of the initial C130J project was to outfit the
maintenance squadron with the required common tools to affect
aircraft maintenance prior to arrival of new aircraft.
Approximately $800,000 CDN was spent on the achieving this goal.
All tool boards and tool kits have been configured in accordance
with Canadian Forces tool Control Maintenance Policy. The
production and configuration phase include many person hours
directed to the geometric charting of the individual tools, the
CNC cutting of hundreds of foam panels to house the tools and
the configuration of the tool boards as well as the associated
checklist and mapping.
3. Requirement
The C130J PMO has subsequently identified that there is a need
to outfit the 436 Sqn with 3 additional ACS tool boards with the
same tooling in existence in accordance with Annex "B" attached.
