Nature of Requirements:
The closing date of the Request for Proposal is changed from
November 14 to November 19, 2014, 2 p.m., Eastern Standard Time
(EST).

Requirement:
The National Research Council (NRC), Saguenay Site, requires a
vacuum system for its Bühler SCN/53 530-tonne die casting
machine. The NRC wishes thus to diversify its die casting
activities to respond to the automotive industry's need to
manufacture highintegrity structural parts.

The vacuum unit is a device peripheral to the existing die
casting machine for rapidly extracting the maximum amount of air
from the mould's cavity before and during the injection of
metal. The vacuum unit's effectiveness, however, is highly
dependent on using the appropriate moulds, valves, shot sleeves
and pistons.

The scope of the work includes the supply, delivery and
installation of one of the system's components, the vacuum unit,
to NRC, as well as training on the equipment's use.
