University of Alberta - Notice of Award - Alaris Pump PCs and Modules with Software

Becton Dickinson is the parent company of CareFusion, the original manufacturer of the Alaris Pumps. When provided with alternative suppliers that sold Alaris pumps it was revealed that many of these were refurbished units and the companies selling them lacked the necessary software needed. The software in question is the Guardrails Point-of-Care Software. This software is essential as it is used by AHS (as are the pumps) and for training it is vital to maintain the same system. AHS loads the AHS Drug Library on to these pumps using the software to allow for an accurate and realistic learning environment for students.
