University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - 2-D Virtual Reality and Experimental Control System for Rodents

The University of Calgary intends to purchase a self-contained immersive PhenoSys JetBall virtual reality VR experimental system for mice to understand the neurobiological basis of complex behaviors. To the team’s knowledge this is the only system where locomotor behavior is coupled directly to the visual display, including features for controlling immersive VR visual stimulation that is coupled to animal movements measured via a trackball. This system includes specialized software for constructing and controlling behavioral experiments in the VR environment.
