The University of Calgary (UCalgary) Containment Level 3 (CL3) facility plans to purchase the Aero3G, whole-body mouse aerosol control platform from Biaera Technologies LLC. A system well characterized for viruses, bacteria and toxins, with record for use with Mtb, is required. This Aero3G system controls the chamber environmental parameters including pressure, relative humidity and temperature for safety of the animals while providing a stable aerosol supply. It provides control, monitoring and recording of sampling using impinger technology (6 LPM).
Together, the Aero3G PC-based aerosol control and management system integrates aerosol generation and sampling, system balancing and environmental control with the ability to monitor and record data generated. To the research team’s knowledge, the Biaera Technologies Aero3G compact system, is the sole system with the required capabilities. Thus, is the only system that provides an inhalation platform for our pre-clinical infectious disease research.
