The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to award a minimum of 5 years contract to Virtual Chemistry, Inc. Virtual Chemistry’s Mosaic Vivarium System is an existing software system used by the Health Sciences Animal Resources Centre (HSARC) at UCalgary and holds all data. The continuation of it is required by the Canadian Council of Animal Care in order to attain accreditation status. It would not be practical to move on to another software. A new software implementation would cause major disruption. Additionally, the process could take months to years, requiring user training and the migration of existing integrations into the new system. UCalgary does not have additional resources or time to implement a new system.
