The University of Calgary (UCalgary) plans to purchase the Simoa HD-X Analyzer, a fully automated digital immunoassay instrument including Simoa Microplate Shaker, 2 year extended warranty, control and analysis software, proprietary disposable microfluidic array discs and assay reagents from Quanterix Corporation. The HD-X Analyzer is a fully automated system that processes the entire assay protocol (dilution, reagent addition, incubation, washing, detection and analysis).
To the research team’s knowledge, Quanterix Corporation is the sole supplier that can provide a fully automated, multiplex digital immunoassay system utilizing proprietary Simoa bead-based technology that provides a minimum fg/ml ultra-sensitive measurement for detecting protein biomarkers. The HD-X Analyzer also supports the use of Simoa homebrew assays allowing users to create custom assays for protein biomarkers and PK/PD applications, which is necessary for the research team.
