The University of Calgary (UCalgary) plans to purchase an HPR-40 DES Quadrupole Differential Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry (DEMS) system equipped with a gas-permeable membrane interface from Hiden Analytical Ltd.

To the research team’s knowledge, this is the sole commercial supplier capable of providing a fully integrated, technically validated, research-grade benchtop DEMS platform uniquely specialized to enable real-time, in-situ detection of gas-phase products (e.g., H2, CO, CH4, C2H4, NH3) generated during electrochemical reactions. This functionality is critical for research and studies on CO2 conversion, nitrogen conversion, and related catalytic processes.
