The University of Calgary (UCalgary) plans to purchase BioAnalix Inc. Compact r-roll Roll-to-Roll (R2R) Manufacturing System with Integrated software and Vision system with integrated 40 W CO2 Laser Cutting Module.
This modular, semi-scalable platform is required by the research team for precision manufacturing of laminated multilayer devices such as microfluidic chips, flexible circuits and biosensor substrates. This system integrates adhesive peel-off, lamination, multi-wavelength laser structuring, and AI-enabled vision QC in a single digitally controlled environment. The system includes three main functional modules, roll to roll lamination and patterning module, laser structuring module, vision-based quality control (QC) and feature verification module integrated under a unified universal control and data logging software suite. The system supports resolution down to 80 μm, adjustable substrate thicknesses from ~80 μm to 250 μm, and substrate widths up to 50 cm, enabling both prototyping and small-to-medium batch production which is required for the research.
