Full description

The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the Tormach 770MX CNC Mill and the Tormach 15L Slant-Pro from Studica Limited, the exclusive educational reseller for Tormach in Canada. The Tormach 770MX CNC Mill is a compact, user-friendly and affordable computer numerical control milling machine capable of handling tough materials such as titanium, stainless steel and hardened steel, along with plastics and wood. It operates on single-phase power, making it suitable for a variety of settings. T15L Slant-Pro CNC lathe is designed for replacement components, prototype parts, and uninterrupted production with a compact footprint. UCalgary Mechanical Engineering requires both the CNC mill and lathe for educational purposes, and the units are intended to be placed on a trailer. Therefore, the equipment must be lightweight and compact. To the department’s knowledge, Tormach’s CNC mill and lathe are the lightest and most compact units at an affordable price that can meet these requirements.
