The University of Calgary intends to purchase the Aplio i800 PRISM Premium Diagnostic Ultrasound System, including Canon Aplio transducers, installation and support from Canon Medical Systems Canada Limited. The UCalgary Cumming School of Medicine requires the Canon Aplio i800 Prism Diagnostic Ultrasound System for general and advanced pediatric rheumatology imaging for uncompromised level of clinical performance, design and intelligence to meet challenges of today’s most demanding practices in pediatric rheumatology.
A Canon Aplio i800 Prism Diagnostic Ultrasound System must be purchased as it will be used in conjunction with existing Canon system in the collaboration labs at the Alberta Children’s hospital and the McCaig Institute. Patients scanned on either machine will lead to identical images with identical settings (resolution, gain, doppler, views) and allow research integrity as well as improving patient flow, allowing patients to be scanned at either location with identical comparable images. Continuity is vital to the research to ensure reliable results. The ongoing support of all Canon systems, transducers and future upgrades is also important.
