The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase two MECART self-supporting, freestanding cleanrooms required for semiconductor and photonics-based nanofabrication. To the lab's knowledge, MECART is the sole supplier that can provide a fully self-supportive modular clean-room that is best suited and will fit in the allocated space. The eliminated requirement of hanging rods and supports makes this supplier's cleanroom system completely detached from the host building’s roof and ceiling to accommodate the building limitations, which is a mandatory requirement. Additionally, to the lab's knowledge, this is the only vendor that provides 100mm clean room walls with built-in wall air returns which is a mandatory requirement for the space.
