University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Fuji Ultrasound Machines

The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the Sonosite LX Ultrasound System - MED ED Program - CORE II, Sonosite LX Ultrasound System and accessories from FujiFilm Sonosite Canada Inc. Currently, most ultrasound devices at UCalgary teaching sites (FMC, PLC, SHC, and RGH) are Fuji Sonosite machines. These machines are used not only in internal medicine but also in critical care and emergency medicine. Learners at UCalgary see patients across all sites and in various wards and settings. Therefore, acquiring any other brand at this time would be detrimental to education, as learners would not be able to effectively translate learning to other clinical rotations or sites. This acquisition aims to replace outdated machines to ensure compatibility and consistency across a wide range of products.
