University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - High Performance Tunable Laser

The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the High Performance Tunable Lasers from Santec USA Corporation. The Santec laser has a unique combination of fine (piezo) tuning, and broad wavelength range (> 100 nm), fast scanning (100 nm/s), a portable form factor (single box as opposed to controller + fragile laser head) that allows it to be easily shared between labs, and a wavelength range sufficiently large to couple to multiple optical resonances of optomechanical devices fabricated in the UCalgary Physics and Astronomy Department lab. The lab's existing software is optimized for controlling Santec lasers; therefore, Santec lasers are required to ensure compatibility with the current setup. It’s the lab’s understanding that only Santec Tunable lasers can meet all their requirements.
