The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase Advanced Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC & R) Trainer with accessories from TecQuipment’s authorized Canadian distributor, AYVA Educational Solutions Limited. The Trainer is a versatile, floor-standing unit for the in-depth study of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC & R) systems. Each section of the trainer has a clear acrylic panel, allow students to better see and visualize the processes that the air is undergoing. Each sensor is also able to be connected to the Versatile Data Acquisition System (VDAS) unit, which allows for live data outputting and recording to a suitable computer. To the UCalgary Mechanical Engineering Department’s knowledge, Ayva’s HVAC & R Trainer is the only system capable of outputting data, providing greater flexibility in the scope of experiments, and supporting multiple learning outcomes on a single platform to meet their teaching requirements.
