The University of Calgary intends to purchase the Biodex Robotized Dynamometer System 4Pro from Atlas Medic. This device will replace existing hardware and software that has been used for the past 23 years. The lab is currently in the middle of three experiments, therefore, to guarantee consistency across the studies, the lab must purchase the Atlas Medic upgraded device and software to ensure strength measurements are accurate, consistent and reliable across time. The largest study involves 90 participants, with partial data already collected. If another manufacturer’s device was acquired, the lab would not be able to report data collected from the last 12 months in the lab’s planned research papers.
