The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase Eclipse Ts2 Fluorescence Microscopes, Digital Sight Fi3 Color/Monochrome Camera with NIS-Basic Research Software and additional accessories from Nikon Canada Inc. The Eclipse Ts2 Fluorescence microscope leverages Nikon's advanced CFI60 optical system and LED illumination for both diascopic and epi-fluorescence imaging, delivering brilliantly clear images for efficient cell culture observation and documentation. Its newly developed Emboss Contrast observation method, combined with improved operability, enhances its use for routine laboratory work. The Microscopes are purchased for a teaching space with tutorials and activities running for all students. The additional accessories are ordered for previously purchased Ts2 Fluorescence Microscopes. The UCalgary Biomedical Engineering Department currently have 6 Nikon Microscopes in the teaching labs and requires 3 additional microscopes to ensure compatible and close in function to the available microscopes in the lab. Incompatible or different systems will disrupt instruction.
