The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase optics for in vivo 2 photon microscopy in neural tissue from Pacific Optica. This system has two independently controlled optical paths allowing the user to image two (or more) brain regions at the same time enabling the recording of the dynamics of neural circuits that are separated by millimeters from each other versus a single optical path which requires the brain regions need to be imaged sequentially, which is not best suited for the lab’s research dynamics of neural circuits studies.
To the research team’s knowledge, this is the sole supplier that can provide a mesoscope that will allow simultaneous acquisitions from distal brain regions and meets all requirements
