University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Measuring Platform (Force Plates) for Biomechanics

The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase four (4) Force Plates and accessories for Biomechanics from Kistler Instrument Corp. Kistler has a three-component force plate that contains piezoelectric sensors in every corner that measure the forces in the three main axes: vertical, horizontal and transverse direction. This is required to characterize biomechanical processes such as walking, running or jumping to help characterize individual(s) movement patterns for CFI funded research projects.

UCalgary Faculty of Kinesiology has Kistler’s force plates and accompanying equipment, therefore, to ensure compatibility with the existing infrastructure and equipment, as well as, to maintain consistency in testing and reliable results allowing for research publication(s), the same Kistler equipment must be purchased.
