The University of Calgary intends to purchase the Syncell Inc. Microscoop system, Syncell software, and on an as-required basis, proprietary reagent kits: photolabile agent for biotinylating the proteins and an optimized sample purification kit that prepares the isolated proteins for identification by MS. This system is required CFI funded project that requires the research team to investigate DNA repair mechanisms in the nucleus of human cells requiring high sampling resolution.
To the university’s knowledge, the Syncell Inc. system is the only system able to achieve sub-cellular selection of proteins for mass spectrometry analysis at ≤240 nm resolution and includes all the required technical capabilities necessary for research.
In addition to the equipment purchase, a one (1) year agreement with renewal options up to five (5) years "maximum period", will be executed for the ongoing purchases of the proprietary reagent kits.
