University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Multi-Analyte Protein and RNA Quantification Instrument

The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the Luminex benchtop xMAP APX2020 Intelliflex Multi-Analyte Quantification Instrument with analysis software and supported ProcartaPlex and QuantiGene Plex assays. This instrument is manufactured by Luminex Corporation, distributed by Life Technologies Inc. as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific Ltd. and to our knowledge is the only system capable of supporting proprietary QuantiGene branched DNA (bDNA) assays and supported by the Biomarker Discovery and Validated Assays (BDA) unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific Ltd. The supplier must be able to provide an instrument including analysis software capable of running assays that quantify high numbers of proteins and RNA transcripts simultaneously in the same sample and supplier must be able to provide and support customized panels for RNA assays.
