The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the10X Genomics Chromium X system, accessory kit with three (3) years extended warranty. This system is an upgrade which will replace the lab’s current 10 X Genomics Chromium Controller system. The Wild Microbiome and Immunology Centre (WiMIC) work requires this system for single cell sequencing to identify heterogeneous cells within complex tissues.
The Chromium X model has an interactive user interface and the ability to run HT (high throughput) assays immediately such as ultra-high parameter multiomic cytometry to identify cell surface proteins. The Chromium X allows for multiomic readouts of gene expression (scRNAseq), epigenetics (scATACseq), feature barcode technology to enable simultaneous profiling of additional cell surface proteins and CRISPR profiling within a single cell. To the lab’s knowledge, 10X Genomics is the only company that provides these technology capabilities in a single system for various multiomic readouts from single cells.
