The University of Calgary intends to purchase a Noraxon Ultium portable biomechanics measurement system which integrates inertial motion units (IMUs), electromyography (EMG) and force-plate technology, along with associated software from Absolute Gauge Technologies Ltd. (AGT).

To the universities’ knowledge Absolute Gauge Technologies is the sole supplier capable of meeting all specified research requirements and technical specifications. In particular, the system provides a fully portable, wireless solution with onboard data logging capabilities, allowing data to be collected locally on the device. This portability is a mandatory requirement, as the intended research applications involve field-based studies of naturalistic movement outside of controlled laboratory environments.

To the university’s knowledge, AGT is the sole North American Distributor of this system.
