The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to award a service agreement to 10Peaks Holdings Ltd for qualitative research services for the project entitled: Understanding root causes of hospitalizations for patients living with Inflammatory Arthritis conditions. The UCalgary Department of Medicine is leading research focused on emergency department (ED) utilization and hospitalizations by adult patients living with inflammatory arthritis (IA) conditions. A sub-study aims to qualitatively explore access to health services by patients living with IA conditions and underlying causes, as framed by Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) that contribute to their hospitalization. The findings would then be used to inform improvements in systems of care (upstream) to improve access to timely care and reduce burdens on acute care services. The anticipated work requires a high level of expertise. 10Peaks Holdings Ltd has extensive experience in the areas of musculoskeletal and integrative healthcare. The Principal Consultant Ania Kania-Richmond has more than 10 years of applied experience in conducting qualitative research, specifically Root Cause Analysis methodology, patient journey mapping, and the interpretive descriptive approach. They have been engaged in musculoskeletal disease research and have content familiarity with disease specific processes that influence arthritis patient journeys. To UCalgary’s knowledge, 10Peaks Holdings is the only organization that offers all the necessary services aligned with the project's needs.
