The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the Samsung RS85 Prestige Ultrasound system and transducers from Samsung’s authorized Canadian distributor, CCE Medical Equipment. Samsung RS85 Ultrasound system is designed for ultimate scanning performance. It provides a broad range of precise fusion, guidance, and dedicated tools to support healthcare professionals during interventional procedures. The system delivers consistent superb image clarity, impressive depth of penetration, and sensitive perfusion. The UCalgary Division of Gastroenterology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit is currently using the Samsung RS85 Prestige Ultrasound machines for both teaching and research. The Samsung Prestige is uniquely suited to meet the research needs of their project due to its advanced elastography capabilities, which are integral to the ongoing studies. The department requires the same machine to ensure consistency of results while minimizing the learning curve for adopting the new system and allowing for seamless integration into their current workflows. It is the department’s understanding that Samsung RS85 Prestige is the only ultrasound machine that can fulfill their technical and research requirements.
