University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)

The University of Calgary plans to purchase a Systems for Research Phenom XL G3 desktop “plug-and-play” Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) from Thermo Fisher Scientific.
To the research team’s knowledge this is the only system in the market that uses a long-life, high brightness, solid state crystal Cerium Hexaboride (CeB6a) electron source, which the team wants.
To the universities knowledge, Thermo Fisher Scientific is the sole CAD distributor of this equipment.
