Full description

The University of Calgary intends to purchase a TeleFipho wireless fiber photometry system from Amuza Inc. To the university’s knowledge, this product is exclusively distributed by Amuza Inc.

A wireless photometry system is required for this CFI-funded research. If system has optical cables and tethers, they directly interfere with the movement of research animals when they are on exercise wheels, passing through doorways and shelters therefore preventing natural behavior and social interactions. The optical cables also may continue to sway after the mouse has stopped moving which interferes with measuring movement of mice via the video tracking software. Optical cables and rotary optical connections may introduce artifacts and noise into the photometry signal, making data difficult to process and interpret.
