THE REASONS FOR SINGLE TENDERING ARE:
NAMMO Raufoss AS is the only firm that can produce 12.7mm multi-purpose ammunition with the specifications required by National Defence that meet all of the following mandatory requirements:
- Entire cartridge must be waterproof
- Commercially produced (not hand-loaded)
- Projectile Type: Multi-Purpose (High Explosive, Armour Piercing, Incendiary)
- PBXN5 High Explosive Filling
- Identified by a Green tip on the projectile
- Velocity at 24m ~903 m/s
- Temperature Stabilized Propellant
