5P468-26-0011/A Stage 2- Johnston Canyon Rock Slope Remediation, Banff National Park

REQUIREMENT

Parks Canada Agency requires the services of a qualified contractor to complete rock slope remediation work along the Johnston Canyon Trail in Banff National Park. The work is part of Parks Canada’s ongoing rockfall hazard management that is intended to reduce the potential safety hazards along the busy trail which runs through the narrow, vertical walled canyon. The work will be situated in a remote environment with significant access and logistical constraints.

The scope of work includes but is not limited to rock scaling, trimming, rock bolt and rock dowel installations.

Access to the site is restricted to pedestrian and small ATV means, with limited vehicular access and very limited on-site staging or laydown areas. All construction activities, materials, and equipment must be transported to and from the site using existing trail networks and/or helicopter-supported access, requiring careful planning and coordination to safely and efficiently execute the work within a sensitive national park environment.

TWO STAGE SELECTION PROCESS

This posting is the Stage Two of a two-stage solicitation process: the first stage was to evaluate the qualifications of all interested suppliers. The second stage (Stage Two) is to invite the qualified suppliers to provide further qualifications and a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings.

Only qualified suppliers have been invited to bid.
