REQUIREMENT
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is responsible for maintaining the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) communications for its members
in all the provinces and territories in Canada. LMR communications are a RCMP member’s life line and critical in day to day operations and
emergency situations. To accomplish this task RCMP must install radio sites in remote, austere and mountain top locations. The equipment at
these sites must be protected by a communications shelter. These shelters have unique requirements of a small footprint, light weight for
helicopter transport and must house both equipment and antenna. This requirement is to meet the need for RSCS for use by the RCMP. The
vast majority of the RCMP’s current fleet of RSCS are located in E Division (British Columbia) with some usage in K Division (Alberta) with
much lesser usage in the rest of Canada.
