Kitchener, ON - Extension of Control Equipment Room and Cell
Additions
Extension of Time. Notice is hereby given that the closing date
for the reception of tenders previously due 07 June 2012 is
extended to 14:00 hours, 12 June 2012.
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) on behalf of
Correctional Services Canada, Grand Valley Institution (GVI) for
Women, has a requirement for an extension of the control
equipment room and cell additions, located at 1575 Homer Watson
Blvd., Kitchener, Ontario N2P 2C5.
This project includes a 64m2 expansion of the existing
communication equipment room and a 42m2 addition of 2 new
segregation cells. The expansion includes for a new UPS system,
new data racks and the relocation of the network video
recorders. Existing mechanical room (Basement) will be expanded
by 24m2. Construction is to match existing which includes an
EFIS insulated stucco system on concrete block, reinforced
concrete and precast concrete slab structure, some steel roof
structure and mod bit roofing.
The work must be performed in accordance with Specification and
Drawings entitled
Extension of Control Equipment Room and Cell Additions, Project
No. R.042826.001, Kitchener, Ontario N2P 2C5, dated 2012-04-25
will form part of the bid document.
SITE VISIT
The site visit for this project is OPTIONAL. Arrangements have
been made for a tour of the work site. The site visit will be
held on the 16 May 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Bidders are to meet at
1575 Homer Watson Blvd., Kitchener, Ontario, at the front
enterance of GVI. Bidders are requested to communicate with
the Contracting Authority, Mary Caporusso, at (416) 512-5859 or
e-mail: m••••••••@•••••.••.ca, two (2) days before the
scheduled visit to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of
the person(s) who will attend. The representative of the bidder
will be required to sign Site Visit Attendance Sheet at the
visit.
Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be
given an alternate appointment. Any clarifications or changes
to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be
included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. Contractors
must bring picture ID. Contractors will NOT be allowed to bring
cell phones, cameras, wallets, money and cigarettes inside the
institution.
The duration of work is scheduled to be completed within 30
weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer.
Bid Security is a MANDATORY requirement for this tender.
Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and
downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard
paper version. Bidders should note that Attachment 1 (ATT 1)
contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which
consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.
